A teamwork between LSE GROUP and Aupied2lalettre
Every great story begins with a desire, an idea. That of the Savoyard events company LSE GROUP was to manufacture the SAVOIE MONT BLANC logo in 3D XXL letters. The feasibility study and manufacturing were then entrusted to AuPied2LaLettre, French leader in the study, manufacture and installation of giant letters, already proven on projects such as #saintemaxime, #fontromeu, #lesmenuires, #sia, #sisteron, #mons, #binche, #sedan, #lepuyenvelay, #migennes, #lagrandemotte, #charlevillemezieres, #cmz, #calais, #parismontparnasse, #troyes, #vernon… and many others.

The preliminary design
During the design phase, we considered several ideas. The first consisted of creating a SAVOIE MONT BLANC logo on a single line. However, such a structure would have exceeded 15 metres in length and could have compromised its instagrammability or its transport. With the aim of being as faithful as possible to the SAVOIE MONT BLANC logo, Au Pied 2 La Lettre then proposed another solution which was quickly adopted!

Giant letters on 3 levels — a first for Au Pied 2 La Lettre
Innovation inevitably brings certain challenges. In this new project, Au Pied 2 La Lettre had to:
- Guarantee an aesthetic result,
- Ensure stability (wind resistance, calculated to maintain integrity under gusts approaching 200 km/h),
- Allow simple, safe and fast handling of the giant letters by the technical teams of the department or towns in which this giant logo would be moved,
- Integrate low-consumption lighting (installation of RGB LED lighting in the base),
- Guarantee resistance to the load of several people wishing to climb on the structure.

The manufacturing process
-
- Material cutting: Sheet metal cuts are made on a CNC laser cutting machine.
- Assembly: Rolling, assembly and tacking are the steps that allow each letter to be built in 3D.
- Welding: Continuous weld seams ensure the resistance and watertightness of these giant letters.
- Dry assembly: To ensure the assembly of the whole, the structure is assembled before painting.
- Coating: After the first epoxy primer coat, an RAL 3020 epoxy finish is applied to the giant letters.
- Material cutting: Sheet metal cuts are made on a CNC laser cutting machine.
