Giant Letters in BERCK-SUR-MER, OPAL COAST: A New Selfie Spot for the Seaside Resort

In anticipation of the 2025 International Kite Festival, the town of Berck-sur-Mer on the Opal Coast sought to boost its appeal to tourists with an installation that is as monumental as it is photogenic: giant letters spelling out “BERCK-SUR-MER Côte d’Opale,” custom-made by Au Pied 2 La Lettre, the French leader in the manufacture of XXL letters and giant logos for public spaces.
A design crafted for impact and sustainability
Our design teams created several 3D models, allowing the municipality to visualize the final result in detail. This made it possible to:
Adjust the proportions of the letters (height, weight, serif length)
To approve the color scheme in line with the city’s visual identity
To integrate LED lighting systems directly into the base
The goal: to ensure a strong visual impact both day and night, while simplifying maintenance and logistics.
