When such a house celebrates its anniversary, every detail matters. Every surface speaks. Every visual decision engages the identity of a legacy.

It is in this exceptional context that Au Pied de la Lettre was commissioned to design and manufacture the LANCEL giant letters — an XXL signature installed at the heart of a prestigious private event, in a Parisian garden, in front of a listed fountain.

Lancel, 150 years of a house that knows what it wants

Founded in 1876, Lancel is one of the most iconic French leather goods houses. Bags, luggage, small leather goods — the brand has established itself decade after decade as a symbol of high-end French craftsmanship. Its red, its logo, its lines: an immediately recognisable identity, consistently defended for 150 years.

To celebrate this exceptional anniversary, Lancel organised a private event in a sumptuous setting — a Parisian garden, a sculpted fountain, an end-of-day light that glides across the white of the letters before giving way to the red night of the spotlights.

A manufacturing process designed for high-end events

The brief was clear: a lightweight solution, fast to execute, capable of supporting a premium finish worthy of a luxury house. Polystyrene, usually associated with accessible event production, can — in the right hands — achieve a level of result that no eye can distinguish from aluminium or resin.

A material like no other

Honeycomb cardboard has nothing to do with a packaging box. It is a technical material, structured, capable of forming rigid and stable XXL volumes. Lightweight, fast to cut, easy to finish — it meets constraints that other materials simply cannot satisfy.

Tight budget. Short deadline. Complicated transport. A one-off, non-renewable event. In these situations, cardboard is often the best answer.

This is one of cardboard’s most practical advantages: fast production. Digital cutting, workshop assembly, finishing — lead times are significantly shorter than with aluminium, resin or wood. For an event decided at short notice, this is decisive.

And once manufactured, the structure is lightweight. Very lightweight. It is transported without a dedicated lorry, installed without lifting equipment, moved from one room to another effortlessly. For touring events or multi-city trade shows, this is a considerable advantage.

Raw cardboard is one option. But in the vast majority of projects, the surface receives a digital printed finish — colours, gradients, logos, photos, typographies — directly onto the faces of the structure.

When such a brand inaugurates its new French headquarters, every detail matters. Every surface speaks. Every material sends a message.

Au Pied de la Lettre manufactured the giant Coromant logo in brushed aluminium — a sober, precise, premium piece, installed at the reception of the brand new French site.

A new headquarters worthy of a global brand

Sandvik Coromant entrusted the construction of its new French site to developer EXIA. This sustainable building, certified BREEAM Very Good, is equipped with the very latest technologies. It houses a Sandvik Coromant Center, a dedicated space for innovation and interaction with clients and partners.

According to Marcel Bellorini, Sales Cluster Manager France, this new site offers a modern, forward-looking, connected and sustainable space for visitors and employees alike.

Such a space deserved a visual signature to match. Sober. Solid. Immediately recognisable.

The “C”: a simple form, a total demand

The Coromant logo is a “C”. A form that appears simple at first glance. In reality, one of the most demanding to manufacture in 3D volume.

No angles. Only curves. A constant cross-section from start to finish. A precise inner return. And above all — a material that forgives nothing: brushed aluminium.

Unlike epoxy paint which conceals imperfections, brushed aluminium reveals them. Every weld must be invisible. Every surface, perfect. Every radius of curvature, constant.

This is exactly the type of challenge our teams master.

A new visual identity for one of the Grand Est’s largest tourist sites

It is with great pride that Au Pied 2 La Lettre was selected following the tender launched by the managers of Lac de Madine for the design, manufacture and installation of several major elements of its new signage.

Located in the heart of the Parc naturel régional de Lorraine, between Metz, Verdun and Nancy, Lac de Madine is one of the most important tourist destinations in the Grand Est region. A true nature destination, it welcomes hundreds of thousands of visitors every year who come to enjoy its water activities, beaches, preserved natural spaces, leisure facilities and exceptional environment.

With the aim of strengthening its appeal and visibility, the site manager launched an ambitious overhaul of its outdoor signage to improve visitor reception while developing its presence on social media.

A strategy focused on visibility and visitor experience

Today, the image of a destination is built as much online as on site. Lac de Madine wanted to modernise its site entrances and create new visual points of interest allowing visitors to share their experience.

The objective was twofold: modernise the site’s visual identity, and create photogenic installations encouraging content sharing on social media.

Giant Logo SIA 2026: an XXL colourful structure at the heart of the Salon International de l’Agriculture

There are events that must be earned. The Salon International de l’Agriculture is one of them. Hundreds of thousands of visitors. Professionals from across Europe. An unmissable agricultural event, the largest on the continent. It is in this exceptional setting that the giant SIA logo was installed, signed Au Pied de la Lettre, French leader in the manufacture of XXL monumental structures.

Reproducing the visual identity of the SIA carries an immense responsibility. Every colour must be respected. Every detail, held. No concession on the finish is conceivable — not here, not in this place.

A composition designed to make an impact from the entrance

The SIA monumental structure is not simply three letters on a white background. It is a visual universe in its own right. Ten coloured discs — pink, green, yellow, blue — arranged in a grid on a white lacquered panel. A central logo on an intense green background. A white diamond-plate aluminium base highlighted with a bold yellow.

Everything breathes vitality. Everything evokes nature, rurality, the joy of the great agricultural gathering.

Reproducing this identity in 3D volume is a double challenge. Respecting every colour to the exact shade of the official brand guidelines. Giving each disc the right diameter, the right relief, the right depth. At Au Pied de la Lettre, this is exactly the type of constraint we love.

In the workshops: from raw steel to colour

The workshop photos tell the story better than any words. The raw metal base, massive, ground down by a focused technician. The white structure standing, the first discs in place, the handling straps still attached. The workshop alive as it should be — with sheets of metal, pallets, pieces in progress.

This is where every XXL giant logo from Au Pied de la Lettre is born.

For SIA 2026, our teams mobilised the full manufacturing chain: CNC laser cutting for perfect circles to the millimetre, epoxy paint in five distinct shades faithful to the official brand guidelines, assembly on a stable diamond-plate aluminium base with no ground anchoring, and complete finishing in-house. From raw steel to the monumental structure delivered on site, we subcontract nothing.

The discs: when detail becomes signature

It is the detail that makes all the difference. Where others might have simply applied flat colour, we manufactured ten discs in 3D volume, each projecting from the background panel. Each disc has its own thickness. Each curve is perfect.

This work required a fully bespoke manufacturing process. Each circle cut by laser. Each edge rolled with precision. The junction between the discs and the white panel had to be clean, sharp, with no visible gap.

This kind of detail sums up well what we do at Au Pied de la Lettre. Not simply manufacturing giant structures. Understanding a visual identity and translating it into steel, down to the last millimetre.

On site: a presence that defines the space

Installed outside the Parc des Expositions, beneath the large LED ring of Pavillon 4, the giant SIA logo does not seek to blend into the surroundings. It captures them. Within moments, it becomes the natural visual landmark of the event.

Visitors converge towards it. Photos follow one after another. Self-supporting, with no heavy anchoring in the ground, it can be repositioned as needed. There are towns that have a personality. Marcq-en-Barœul is one of them. Residential, dynamic, attached to its identity. A commune in the North of France like no other. When it entrusts its visual signature to Au Pied de la Lettre, it is this personality that must be translated into steel, light and grand scale.

The result? A luminous XXL monumental structure, assembled in our Fleigneux workshops, ready to become the town’s new visual landmark.

A composition in two registers, a single identity

The Marcq-en-Barœul giant structure is not simply letters placed on a base. It is made up of two distinct elements, conceived together from the very start.

On one side, the sculptural logo — an organic form in free curves, evoking movement, lightness and elegance. On the other, the MARCQ EN BARŒUL lettering in massive white typography, accompanied by the signature “UN ART DE VIVRE” engraved on the navy blue base.

Two registers. Two visual languages. One coherent, immediately identifiable whole.

In the workshops: when complexity becomes signature

The workshop photos tell the story. The Marcq-en-Barœul sculptural logo is not a simple form. It is made up of dozens of rolled, bent aluminium bands, assembled point by point on a welding table. Each curve must simultaneously meet constraints of shape and structural strength.

Café Joyeux: a brand that carries a powerful message

Café Joyeux is, above all, a mission. The mission to include, to value and to make extraordinary teams shine. Every café opening is an event, a celebration as much as an inauguration. Furthermore, every new site deserves a visual signature that matches the emotion the brand naturally generates.

It is in this spirit that Au Pied de la Lettre, French leader in the manufacture of giant letters and monumental logos, manufactured the giant letters JOYEUX — six characters in vivid yellow, massive, radiant and reusable from opening to opening.

A yellow that means business

The Café Joyeux yellow is not just any yellow. It is a precise, warm shade, immediately associated with the brand and its values. The slightest chromatic drift would betray the visual identity that thousands of customers recognise instantly.

Our teams therefore worked from the brand’s official reference to formulate a matching epoxy paint to the nearest thousandth. The workshop photos show this perfectly: the letters hanging in the powder coating booth, suspended on hooks, receiving a uniform coat on all their faces, edges and backs. Not a single angle is forgotten. Not a single surface escapes the finishing process.

The result speaks for itself: a full, matt, uniform yellow that pops and lasts.

Hublot: a brand that does nothing by halves

There are brands that demand something different. Hublot, the world-renowned Swiss watchmaking manufacture, is one of them. Every detail matters. Materials speak for themselves. The surface must be worthy of a name that has embodied excellence for decades.

When Hublot entrusts its XXL giant logo to Au Pied de la Lettre, an absolute standard of excellence is therefore imposed from the outset. No compromise. No approximation. A result that is, from the very first glance, worthy of the brand.

A complex symbol, a sculpture in its own right

The Hublot logo is not a letter. It is a sculpture. Two vertical uprights connected by two arcs — one concave, one convex — that correspond with absolute geometric precision. Every curve must be perfect. The radius, constant. The junction between the flat and the curved, imperceptible.

Reproducing this symbol as a 3D monumental logo requires expertise that very few manufacturers in France possess. The arcs demand millimetric rolling. The vertical uprights, irreproachable flatness. Between the two, a striking contrast. The opaque white of the logo floats above the base which, in turn, disappears into its surroundings through total reflection. The structure does not weigh on the space. It exists. It asserts itself without imposing itself — which is, at its core, the very definition of understated luxury.

Every visitor who passes in front of this installation sees something different depending on the time of day, the light, the season. The base changes. The logo remains.

A mirror base: technique and aesthetics in the service of prestige

Achieving a mirror polish on a base of this dimension is no minor operation. The surface must be perfectly flat — the slightest defect is magnified by the reflective effect. Every angle must be sharp. Every edge, clean.

Furthermore, two adjustable lighting spots are integrated directly onto the top of the base. At night, they project a raking light across the white logo, creating an effect of texture and depth that no photograph fully captures. This is why this monumental structure exists equally well in full daylight and at nightfall — two atmospheres, one single piece.

On site: a presence that asserts itself quietly

Placed on the lawn in front of the dark stone facade, the giant Hublot structure does not occupy the space. It qualifies it. The mirror base blends into the lawn, reflecting the architecture. The white logo emerges, calm, certain of itself.

Garden Padel at Roland-Garros: a prestigious giant structure

There are venues that must be earned. Roland-Garros is one of them. The Court Philippe-Chatrier as a backdrop. The red brick walkways of the world temple of tennis. It is in this exceptional setting that the Garden Padel giant letters were installed, signed Au Pied de la Lettre, French leader in the manufacture of XXL monumental structures.

Reproducing the visual identity of Garden Padel therefore carries an immense responsibility. Every colour must be respected. Every detail, held. No concession on the finish is conceivable — not here, not in this place.

A structure in two parts: navy blue and gradient

The Garden Padel monumental structure is made up of two distinct registers. At the top, GARDEN in massive navy blue letters, textured and dense. At the bottom, PADEL in a spectacular gradient: from vivid yellow to green, then to icy cyan.

Two families of forms, therefore. Two manufacturing logics. Two radically different finishes. And yet, a single coherent whole, placed on a navy blue base fitted with recessed LED spots.

Our teams mobilised the full manufacturing chain: CNC laser cutting, bespoke rolling and assembly, continuous welds imperceptible after finishing, navy blue epoxy paint with textured effect for the upper register, hand-applied chrome gradient on the PADEL letters, and low-consumption LED integration in the base. From raw steel to the monumental structure installed on site, we subcontract nothing.

The racket: when detail becomes signature

It is the detail that makes all the difference. Where others might have simply placed a plain P, we integrated a 3D padel racket in volume directly into the structure. Perforated, faithful to the real proportions of a racket, it sits naturally within the lettering without ever unbalancing it.

Manufacturing this piece required a fully dedicated process. Every perforation cut by laser. Every curve of the head rolled with precision. The junction between the racket and the rest of the PADEL lettering had to be imperceptible — as if it had always been there.

This kind of detail sums up well what we do at Au Pied de la Lettre. Not simply manufacturing giant letters. Understanding a brand identity and translating it into steel, down to the last millimetre.

A transport system that reinvents the rules

This project also introduces an innovation that very few manufacturers offer. The Garden Padel structure features an integrated protection and transport system: grey panels assembled like doors that entirely envelop the piece when closed.

From the outside, a compact and neutral block. Inside, the colourful structure waits. When the doors open, the gradient explodes. The reveal effect is immediate, spectacular, deliberate.

This is not packaging. It is a dramaturgy. The structure does not simply install — it reveals itself. And this ability to think the experience beyond the object itself is precisely what sets Au Pied de la Lettre apart from a simple supplier.

Giant Logo Arbent: a luminous XXL signature leaves the Au Pied de la Lettre workshops

The Arbent giant logo is not simply a word. It is made up of two distinct elements, complementary, and each demanding in its own way.

On one side, the giant icon logo: three interlocking triangles in green, yellow and navy blue, evoking relief, dynamism and depth. On the other, the “arbent” lettering in rounded typography, white lacquered, designed to illuminate.

Two families of forms. Two manufacturing logics. One single whole, mounted on a diamond-plate aluminium base, ready to shine.

In the workshops: where it all begins

The photos speak for themselves. Across several hundred square metres of workshop, overhead cranes, stocked sheets of metal and CNC machines: this is where the giant letters and XXL monumental logos of Au Pied de la Lettre are born.

For Arbent, the manufacturing process mobilised the full chain of expertise:

Laser cutting of sides and faces, with millimetre precision to respect the sharp angles of the geometric symbol
Folding and assembly of the triangles — every edge must be clean, with no burr, no approximation
Rolling of the lettering curves, to achieve perfectly regular rounded forms on each letter
Continuous welds, invisible once the finish is applied
Epoxy paint in three distinct shades for the symbol — green, yellow, blue — and white lacquer for the lettering
LED integration: low-consumption lighting concealed in the base and letters, capable of producing variable chromatic atmospheres, from cool blue to warm red

Light as a second material

What strikes you in the workshop photos is the way the XXL letters illuminate. LED lighting is not an accessory: it is an integral part of the project from the very first design stage.

The “arbent” letters become translucent under the effect of light, changing atmosphere according to the projected colour. In the evening, the effect is striking. At night, the monumental structure continues to exist, to communicate, to draw the eye.

That is what well-designed XXL communication looks like: a structure that never truly switches off.

A base that makes the difference

A detail noticed on every Au Pied de la Lettre project: the base. Here in diamond-plate aluminium, it is low, stable and clean. It houses the recessed LED spots directed towards the logo, guarantees the self-stability of the whole without ground anchoring, and facilitates transport and repositioning of the structure as needed.

A giant letter without a well-designed base is a beautiful piece placed on the floor. With a considered base, it becomes a monumental installation that asserts itself.
